Many customers after changing their VPS's software configuration have experienced the following problem when attempting to log into their VPS via SSH:

Server refused to allocate pty

The following instructions will help you to resolve this.
1) Log into SolusVM.
2) Click the Console Access icon.
3) In the command box, enter the following two commands, and press Execute after each one:
/sbin/MAKEDEV tty
/sbin/MAKEDEV pty
Note it is normal for no output to be displayed on the page.
4) You should now be able to log into your VPS via SSH without issues.
